Akoma rites of passage journey is a journey for young girls aged 9 to 16 years of age. The journey embraces the teachings for self-awareness and self-respect.  The journey runs on a 7 session program cycle. During this cycle the participant affectionately known as princesses are coupled with a mentor. Mentoring affords the young girl the opportunity to have some guidance from an outside individual who has her best interest at heart. The mentor can assist with the navigation of life, ideas and dreams.
